Explore the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum for Just $5

The greater D.C. metro area is certainly home to a wide range of historical museums. If you're looking for something a bit unique to peruse and you find yourself in Alexandria, check out the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum.

Located just under four miles from Beacon of Groveton apartments, the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum was originally a family-run business that opened its doors in 1805. After closing the store during the Great Depression, the store became a museum, with all of the original tools and materials from the store still in the space for guests to see. The museums houses collections of medical ingredients and tools, hand blown glass, letters and even old prescription papers and invoices from when the store was operating. Visitors can choose to go on a 30-minute tour of the space for just $5.00.
